Earlier today, we accidentally suspended a number of accounts.

We regret the human error that led to these mistaken suspensions and we are working to restore the affected accounts—we expect this to be completed in the next several hours.

One additional note: some the accounts suspended were using the third-party site Tweetlater. However, Tweetlater is not to blame for these suspensions nor is it in violation of our Terms.

Follower/Following delays [Twitter]

twitterstatus:

We’re working to reduce the amount of time it takes for new follower/followings to take effect. Right now, after you follow or unfollow someone it may take some time for that action to be properly recorded and propagated throughout the system. As a result, you may run into discrepancies such as:

follower and following counts are off

new followings not showing up in your timeline

seeing that you can follow someone you’ve already followed

We’re planning several upgrades to address these issues and will post more as we make progress.

Update (3:03p): Other inconsistencies in addition to the above also exist:

device notification changes for followers (choosing whose updates you get on your phone)

favoriting and unfavoriting of individual tweets

  The misfits.

    The rebels.

      The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

      Because they change things.

They invent. They imagine. They heal.

They explore. They create. They inspire.

They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.

How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?

We make tools for these kinds of people.

While some see them as the crazy ones,
we see genius.

Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do.

It’s a nice feature and I will enjoy having it. However, this feature was dropped on the developer community like a giant sack of potatoes. No warning. Just a big spud bomb. There are actually quite a few implications of this in the API side if you’ve been relying on Replies to behave one way and now it will start including many more tweets. If you change the Twitter UI (which they did)…fine, no big deal…you show more tweets now. But with the wide range of web and desktop apps that use the Twitter API out there in production, I really can’t believe that there was no warning or time given to actually test this feature out. IMHO, there should have been better communication/coordination with the developer community.

I bought this Energizer Energi To Go iPod/iPhone battery...

I bought this Energizer Energi To Go iPod/iPhone battery charger offered on Woot the other day. There are definitely times when I run out of phone juice and it’s just really inopportune, so I thought getting a couple of these would be a good idea.

Here’s the thing though. If you look at the Energizer site, nowhere on there does it say that it will work with iPhone. Related: there are no instructions as to which setting to use for the iPhone when attempting to charge it.

Anyhow, I am here to tell you that I charged my iPhone 3G just fine with it set to the 80GB iPod setting. I think this is just a positioning the connector thing rather than a how much juice do we spit out thing.

Dublin Dr. Pepper Sightings (Austin,TX)

dublindp:
